REMINDER: DEADLINE FOR SQUARES FOR THE 2016 FRIENDSHIP QUILT IS OCTOBER 10!

FAWCO our parent organization is once again creating a Friendship Quilt which will be raffled off at the FAWCO Interim Meeting in March 2016. Every club including AWCH is encouraged to submit a square or squares. The 2015 Friendship Quilt was a huge success and brought in over $3000 for the Target Project, Free the Girls. Thanks to Tracy and team, AWCH contributed four squares to the 2015 quilt!

Now the deadline is approaching for making blocks for the 2016 FAWCO Friendship Quilt “Liberty”. It will follow the design at http://www.quilterscache.com/L/LiberateBlock.html. You’ll need 5 different colors. Please use solid colors, no prints. Use 100% cotton. So go to the link and follow the steps! (Sewing instructions are on page 1, cutting instructions on page 2.) Then sign your block using either embroidery or a Pigma pen (0.5mm permanent archive quality).

FAWCO hopes to promote international understanding and good will by giving annual awards for study, in the US or abroad, at high school, undergraduate and graduate levels. The Foundation Awards Program is open to all FAWCO club and FAUSA (FAWCO Alumnae USA) members and their children (grandchildren are eligible for the Dual Cultural Award), regardless of nationality and regardless of whether or not the affiliated Club has made a contribution to The Foundation’s programs.
