With the AWCH Hamburger Helpers program, each part of town is assigned a greeter who welcomes new members to the club and creates a warm atmosphere for all members living in that area. We have nearly 20 Hamburger Helpers who participate in the program! Thank you to all! The program is overseen by Charis Harburg and, until recently, Karen Sellhorn-Timm. Adrienne has now joined the team as Karen steps back, and you can hear from each of them below.

The friendly AWCH welcome wagon: Charis, Adrienne, and Karen
You know what is great about the AWCH (besides meeting great women from all walks of life)? Everyone can contribute and make this club work. When I joined in fall 2021 I was asked if I am interested in being the Co-Coordinator for the Hamburger Helpers. I jumped right in and with Charis at my side it was easy. The Hamburger Helpers are a great group of people. They make sure you not only become connected in your neighborhood but will help you with settling in in Hamburg/Germany.
As life is constantly changing, so is mine. I was offered a great opportunity at work that will require me to travel much more. Therefore, with a heavy heart I made the decision to step back from being the Co-Coordinator and give someone new the chance to shape this great AWCH institution.
A big THANK YOU goes out to all the Helpers, you guys are just the best. I would also like to thank Charis for offering me this great opportunity and giving me the chance to not only being a member but to contribute.
For you ladies of the AWCH, I can only encourage you to get involved in what ever way is possible for you. WE are the club, so let's create and get together!
Yours,
Karen
Many of you may know me as the AWCH Membership Chair from 2022 - 2024. I thoroughly enjoyed my board member role but continuing on the board was not something I could unite with my plans for 2024. Helping to get our new members connected within the club was a rewarding job so when Charis asked me to help as co-coordinator for the Hamburger Helpers, I jumped at the chance.
I aim to continue Karen Sellhorn-Timm‘s supportive role as best I can, by aiding and encouraging our wonderful Hamburger Helpers in their roles. Our Hamburger Helpers are a vital and central part of the supportive network I have come to love about our Club.
Kind regards,
Adrienne Wright Bulow
AWCH recently received this bit of good news from The FAWCO Foundation:
"The FAWCO Foundation is extremely grateful for AWC Hamburg's continued contribution to the Environment Target Project 5 and I'm happy to report that your club's position on the Club Donor Wall has been upgraded to the Orchid Donor level!"
Thank you to all AWCH members who have donated to Awesome Blossoms by participating in the auctions and making / buying homemade items at FAWCO events.
