Cole Reed (Jason Statham) has been released from jail, after having been falsely suspected of murdering his boss. Now free, he is determined to avenge this crime, as well as the murder of his own father. As a former police officer, he has the necessary abilities. He becomes a passenger on the container ship Artemis. One room is full of Thai immigrants who know little about their destination. Cole promises to release them, as well as find them food, drink, and medicine.
The plot is quite simple, practically non-existent. More important is the continuous action. Everyone has a gun, which guarantees constant shooting, e.g. thirty shots into a car, which makes it a film for viewers eighteen and older. This is a guy film with actor Jason Statham leading us along quite effectively. We have a great chance to experience actor Simon Kluth, who was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. He plays Jaran Danieles, a man active in Mafia human trafficking. Annabelle Wallis plays the one main female character in the film, Angie Ellis. Here, the ship is a personality, an actor in its own right, travelling across the ocean. We see different rooms, lean overboard, and even stand up on top of the containers. Filmed on the island of Malta. (Becky T.)
