Sinners is an important contribution to Black History Month and addresses key themes such as racism, identity, and injustice. The film also made cinematic history by receiving a total of 16 Academy Award nominations this year—more than any other film before it.

The film is set in 1932 in the Mississippi Delta in the United States and follows twin brothers who return to their hometown to start a new life, only to encounter a supernatural and dangerous evil. The film artfully combines elements of horror, Southern drama, music, and supernatural motifs, using this blend to tell a powerful story about history and social issues.
