For the first time, the Hamburger Kunsthalle is showing over 180 artworks by Maria Lassnig and Edvard Munch in a major double exhibition.

Although Lassnig was influenced by Munch, who was half a century her senior, the exchange is far from one-sided. Her paintings, drawings, photos and films, in turn, cast new light on his oeuvre. This mutual illumination is the focus of the exhibition. Dr. Frances Livings, a respected art historian and seasoned gallery educator, will lead us through this extensive art show, and help deepen our appreciation for these two world-class artists.
