Global Issues

FAWCO is committed to improving the lives of women and girls worldwide, especially in the areas of education, the environment, health, and human rights. The FAWCO Global Issues Teams provide resources for the member clubs to raise awareness of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to FAWCO's commitment. The three-year Target Program focuses on a specific issue to increase the impact of local clubs.

UN Advocacy

As an UN-accredited NGO, FAWCO has UN representatives in several cities, where they represent FAWCO and advocate for projects and laws that directly affect gender equality and human rights. They also promote the SDGs and awareness of the goals. Since 1997, FAWCO has had special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This status gives FAWCO members a voice at the global level with the UN and within the community of UN-accredited international NGOs.
