Three AWC Hamburg members, Susan Stanley-Witt, Tracy Moede and Allison Richter made quilt blocks for the charity quilt "Liberate". Many different blocks from multiple club members in various clubs came together in one big, beautiful quilt that was auctioned off for $2600 at the Interim Conference in Frankfurt in March 2016 for the Free The Girls Project (FTGP).The FTGP is a FAWCO target program which "focuses on women's rights as human rights, specifically in the areas of political empowerment and participation, economic empowerment, peace and security, and ending violence against women." The project collects new and gently used bras, to then set up second-hand clothing markets, and then sell the bras that have been collected. Many of the women that have been assisted through this program are trafficking survivors, whom for several it is a first job and a reintegration back into society.
“The FAWCO Friendship Quilt”, which is quilted every year by Roberta Zollner, a IWC Munich member, has raised over $ 70,000 for various charity projects. This is the 22nd quilt that has been made by FAWCO club members. (Tracy Moede and Carol Strametz)
