SUMMARY:WORKSHOP "Me & my german husband" with Anna S.
LOCATION:Magdalenenstraße 49\, 20148 Hamburg
DESCRIPTION: \n
\n
“Me and my German Husband? “ A workshop on Cross-Cultural Difference
s and Similarities between Americans, Germans, and the Rest of the Wo\n
\n

\n All family relationships can be named cross-cultural, both spouses come
from different families with individual ideas about self-worth, identity,
boundaries, goals and parenting approaches. Difference attracts and fascina
tes us when we fall in love. However, living in the intercultural relations
hip is far more challenging. \n\n\n According to the pooled World values a
nd European values surveys, in 2000 the United Stated scored 73 on a subjec
tive well-being scale, and Germany only 63. What does it mean to us? That i
n general, Germans feel less happy than Americans; and that the music of th
e same relationships can be perceived through a differently by both partner
s. Nations differ in perception of happiness, a degree of emotional express
ion, attitudes towards health, women roles, ambiguity, time orientation, an
d many others. Let us have a look at what the research and our experience t
ell us, let us find a meaning in some attitudes and behaviors, to know ours
elves better and to accept our partners and neighbors the way they are.\n\n
\n The workshop is not a therapy session, you would not be asked to disclos
e your personal histories in front of other participants, the goal of the w
orkshop is to understand how your own relationship is influenced by your ow
n culture, the culture of your husband, and the culture of the country we a
living in.\n\n When? on Tuesday January 15, 2019\n\n 10.00-12.00 Presentat
ion, 12.00-12.40 Q&A\n\n\n\n\n
