AWCH stands behind init
iatives to end violence against women and children. The Laufend Gegen Gewal
t charity run is\nsponsored by the Hamburg Autonomous Women's Shelters. The
goal is to raise money to support the residents of the\nwomen's shelters a
nd to raise awareness of the ever increasing number of domestic violence in
Hamburg and the world.\n
The autonomous Hamburg women's shelters offer hel
p for those escaping violence at home. In addition to housing, the\nshelter
s offer women and children individual advice, support and perspective devel
opment for a life without violence.\n
This charity run is the sole fundrais
ing event for the Women's Shelters to cover extra expenses for sheltering t
he over\n500 women and children each year. \n
Join us to support their cau
se! Domestic violence must not be ignored, tolerated or trivialized.\n
