uage tour of the Ahrensburg Palace, erected sometime around 1585. \nThere i
s currently also an exhibit in the palace museum of the work of North Germa
n Impressionist Ernst Eitner, a founding member of the Hamburg Artists’ Clu
b in 1897. Though we won’t have a tour of that exhibit, it is included in t
he price of admission and there is a brochure available in English.\nThe ev
ent is scheduled for Sunday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m., and will cost €14. We
need 10 to 15 participants to make it happen.\n\nThere are various ways to
get to Ahrensburg, located just across the border from Hamburg in lovely S
chleswig-Holstein.\n1. Carol H. is looking to get a bicycling group togethe
r.\n2. I will meet anyone who’d like to come by train on the platform at th
e Ahrensburg station. It’s just about a 20-minute trip on the Regionalbahn
from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof, and a 15-minute walk from the Ahrensburg train s
tation to the palace. \n3. There is a (non-historically accurate) parking l
ot in front of the palace.\n\nPlease let me know if you’d like to join us,
as well as which transportation method you expect to use.\nAlso please note
that the palace is not barrier-free.\n
