AWCH stands behind initiatives to end v iolence against women and children. The Laufend Gegen Gewalt charity run is sponsored by the Hamburg Autonomous Women's Shelters. The goal is to raise money to support the residents of the women's shelte rs and to raise awareness of the ever increasing number of domestic violenc e in Hamburg and the world.
The autonomous Hamburg women's shelters o ffer help for those escaping violence at home. In addition to housing, the shelters offer women and children individual advice, support and perspectiv e development for a life without violence. Over the last two years, Ha mburg's women's shelters have reached full capacity (see here).
This charity run is th e sole fundraising event for the Women's Shelters to cover extra expenses f or sheltering the over 500 women and children each year.

We hope to involve many of our members, as well as thei

ticipant recieves a T-shirt for the run -- but if you have yours from a pre
vious year, please wear it!

The run will start at 10:00 a.m. but we will be meeting at 9:40 f or a warm-up.
