SUMMARY:Stolperstein Dedication
LOCATION:Grossneumarkt 38 (outside)
DESCRIPTION:\nStolperstein: Stumbling block\n—something that causes difficulty or hesit
ation\n\nYes, stop and think. We know the staggering numbers of people vict
imized by the Nazi regime, but the Stolpersteine give us names. And if we t
ake the time, we can begin to see faces and hear stories.\n\nJoin us to ded
icate the Stolperstein sponsored by AWCH in January 2020 to honor and remem
ber holocaust victim Lea Salomon Heymann. The youngest of seven children, L
ea grew up in Hamburg-Neustadt. She met her husband, Paul Heymann—a merchan
t, hairdresser, and translator—in 1919. The couple had three children. Lea,
along with her husband, her daughter Wilma (aged 14), son Alfred (aged 17)
, and two sisters, Rosa and Fanny, were all deported at the end of 1941 and
never returned. Luckily, Lea and Paul’s eldest daughter was able to escape
to the States—and keep the memories alive.\n\nThe COVID pandemic prohibite
d a dedication ceremony in 2020 but we are now pleased to share this import
ant event with five members of the Abraham and Sophie Salomon family, who a
re visiting from the States. \n\nPlease join us for the short ceremony to p
ay tribute to these lost family members and learn more about the Stolperste
 in project.\n
