AWCH stands behind initiatives to end v iolence against women and children. The Laufend Gegen Gewalt charity run is sponsored by the Hamburg Autonomous Women's Shelters. The goal is two fold: 1) to raise money to support the residents of the w omen's shelters and their children where state funds are insufficient, and 2) to raise awareness of the ever increasing number of domestic violen ce in Hamburg and the world.
For 43 years, the autonomous Hamburg wom en's shelters have offered help for those escaping violence at home. L ast year, 486 women and 494 children found protection in a women's shelter. The Hamburg women's shelters offer women and children individual advi ce, support and perspective development for a life without violence. D omestic violence must not be ignored, tolerated or trivialized.

us in supporting this 15th annual charity run Laufend Gegen Ge
walt (Race Against Violence). This year the charity run will
return to its pre-pandemic format. Participants will meet at the Fährdamm n
ear the restaurant AlsterCliff to run, walk, bike, or skate around the lake
(7.1 km).
We hope to involve many of our members, as well as th
eir family and friends to show our support. Anyone can register, so please
