The Harbor Explorers are back: this time to strol
l around one of Hamburg’s newer up-and-coming ‘Quartier’ sites, the B
aakenhafen. Construction is ongoing and developers in this area are opening
up residential buildings for project groups at moderate rental rates.

We’ll be meeting up for breakfast at the Jufa Hotel Hafen City, the
n strolling along Versmannkai, peeking into the popup stores on this promen
ade. We’ll cross the pedestrian bridge to check out Baakenpark and Hamburg’
s very own mini green pyramid, the Himmelsberg.
We loop back to the h
otel and you can return either via the U4 (if you need to get home) or walk
the path through the Lohsepark Hannoversche Bahnhof memorial across the st
reet, ending in Stockmeyerstraße (buses) or Deichtorhallen.
Meetup time: 9:45-10:00 in the Hotel Jufa restaurant, first floor in th
e picnic table area. Breakfast costs 8,50 € and the wonderful buffet is ope
n until 10:30. After breakfast meetup we walk at our own pace around the lo
op and exploring the park.
