SUMMARY:Harbor Explorers: Canceled
LOCATION:Spicy's Museum\, Am Sandtorkai 34 and Lieger Caesar\, Am Sandtorkai 60
DESCRIPTION: Harbor Explorers: Spicy's Spice Museum and Lieger CaesarCANCELED due to th
e Corona situation In the cold and chill of November we all need a spicy pi
ck-me-up! Come join us in the Hafen City at Sandtorkai for a tour of Hambur
g's unique spice museum, Spicy's. This is a small museum specialising in al
l kinds of spices: where they come from, how they are harvested, stored and
processed, and how to use them. There are exotic types of peppers and curr
ies and spices many of us have never heard of. \nSpicy's has a wonderful sh
op with a huge assortment of spices to purchase. A free little sack of pepp
er is included in the moderate entrance fee, 4 EUR.\nWe will spend an hour
at the museum (you may stay longer if you want), then walk 4 minutes to our
lunch location, a historic 'Lieger' on the water. A LIeger is a kind of ho
useboat that was used harborside as a specialised workshop for boats to moo
r on and use their services.\nThis Lieger was built in 1902 and was origina
lly a welder's shop situated near the center of the Hambug harbor. It is ne
wly renovated with a comfortable restaurant and shop. Cook Simon has a week
ly menu with at least two vegetarian items. He used to work for Tim Mälzer
at the Bullerei, and is now following his own claim to fame with this enter
prise! There is a lot of fresh air, but Simon has promised to invest in a s
mall heater for the interior. \nCost: 4 EUR for the museum, and whatever yo
u eat and pay yourself. This event is strictly limited to 10 people for Cov
id safety. Please register by pressing the YES button below. If you wish to
join us at the Lieger (with or without visiting the museum) please sign up
for that separately by pressing that button.\nWe will monitor the ongoing
Corona situation, socially distance at the museum and sit at several tables
with plenty of room at the Lieger. Remember to bring your mask for interio
 r areas.\n
