AWCH stands behind initiatives to e nd violence against women and children. The Laufend Gegen Gewalt charity run is sponsored by the Hamburg Autonomous Women's Shelters. The goal is to raise money to support the residents of the women's sh elters and to raise awareness of the ever increasing number of domestic vio lence in Hamburg and the world.
The autonomous Hamburg women's shelte rs offer help for those escaping violence at home. In addition to housing, the shelters offer women and children individual advice, support and perspe ctive development for a life without violence. This charity run is the sole fundraising event for the Women's Shelters to cover extra expenses for she ltering the over 500 women and children each year.
Join us to support their cause! Domestic violence must not be ignored, t olerated or trivialized.
What: Walk, run, bike, or skate around the lake (7.1 km) to raise awareness of violence against women AND raise money for Hamburg's Womens Shelters
Where and When: Meet at Fährdamm near the re staurant AlsterCliff at 10:00 a.m. (run begins at 10:30 a.m.)
