FLOWERS FOREVER: Flowers in Art an d Culture

 

This long-awaited exhibition about the beauty, power, and symbolism of flowers recently opene d at the Bucerius Kunst Forum. Paintings, sculptures, phot ographs, and installations all inspired by flowers are drawn from historica l and contemporary works of art and design as well as from the natural scie nces and represent different epochs and cultures.

The AWCH Art Group is organizing a self-guided tour (with t he BKF’s multimedia smart phone app or it’s portable audio guide) for AWCH members to explore “the important role of flowers in culture, mythology, re ligion, politics, economy, ecology – while demonstrating the omnipresence o f the flower as both a symbol and natural phenomenon”.

For the tour, we will use the Bucerius Kunst Forum App, which can be downl oaded for free on your smart phone. If you prefer not to use the app, you c an rent a portable audio guide at the museum for 2€.  Search for "BKF Multimediaguide" at the App Store or Google Play Store. 

Who ever likes can stay on for a late lunch or coffee afterwards next door at C otidiano.
