Charity Run to Benefit
the Hamburg Women’s Shelters
The American Women's Club
of Hamburg voted for the 5th Autonomous Hamburg Women's Shelter as the local charity to support for the next two years:
In the last 10 years, the Hamburg Women's Shelte
rs have provided over 7000 women and 5000 children protection against domes
tic violence.
The Hamburg women's shelters offer women and children in
dividual advice, support and perspective development for a life without vio
lence.
Domestic violence must not be ignored, tolerated or trivialized
.
AWCH will support and partici
pate in the 12th annual charity run Laufend Gegen Gewalt (
Race Against Violence). You can walk, skip, hop, jog or run to help raise a
wareness and money for local women's shelters.
We hope to involve many
of our members, as well as their family and friends to show our support fo
r the charity we have chosen.

u have registered, make a bank transfer of €12 to

We have also offered to help out with organization on the day of
the run. If anyone is interested in lending a helping hand, please contact
Jennifer L. We will help with the general set up at 7:00 a.m. and help disp
ense water and the baked goods during and after the run. In fact, AWCH has
volunteered to manage the half-way water station. Please contact Jennifer L
if you want to lend a helping hand.
We have also offered to donate baked goods, which can be dropped off at the
