Brilliant blue skies and balmy breezes greeted members and their families as they met at the entrance to Hagenbeck’s Tierpark, one of Europe’s oldest zoos, on May 24. New member Roimata Templeton joined the families Bölke and Wendt with her daughters Ripeka and Darcie for an exciting and easy-going walk through this zoological paradise in the middle of Hamburg. Highlights included rowdy brown bears getting their lunch, a peacock wooing a lady friend, pacing – and growling! – tigers, and fast friendship among the girls of the younger generation, who agreed to get together again in the near future.
