by Kirstan B. Returning to America for vacation is always a treat. Not that I enjoy the adventure of flying with a family of five, coordinating our suitcases and accommodations, renting a car and spending hours booking the flights, but the sweet arrival in my homeland for the most part ushers in a sense of internal ease. My family seems so nice and welcoming in the first stages of jet-lag, as I haven’t yet been subjected to the tidbits of reverse culture shock that will inevitably surprise me during the rest of my stay. |
