Our magazine, which is included with membership, features tips and information as well as personal stories and articles of interest to our members. The proofreaders meet twice a month to proof submissions style, grammar and spelling, and to check that the layout is accurate just prior to publishing. Even if you can't spell, we can use your expertise to check for accuracy. |

We encourage family-oriented activities and support several English-language playgroups. Our children’s playgroups offer the opportunity for children six months and up to play together in English. It is also a great place for Moms of all nationalities to socialize! |

We attend the free press showings of films slated to open in Hamburg weeks later. With the help of press packets, we write reviews for Currents Magazine and the AWCH website. Amateurs and professionals are all welcome. We communicate via email or fax. Films are almost daily, mornings and early afternoons, and we attend as we have time. |

Do you need help? Our Guardian Angels are the ones to call. We can help you find the markets, schools, hairdressers, doctors, dentists, how to travel by bus and trains. We are there to listen to your woes and to meet with you and have a chat over coffee. We have all been in the position of being the "new" person in town so we are ready and willing to help you. We are located in several of the neighborhoods all over the city. |

Mixed Doubles is just what the name suggests: couples who come from two different nationalities, living in Germany. Pairs have found they share many of the same issues that come from the merging of two cultures, whether in raising children, furnishing an apartment, career issues, shopping, entertaining, in-laws, etc. Join us and share your stories! |

Some members attend press conferences before the public openings of exhibits at Hamburg's Museums, and write reviews in our club magazine, Currents. We also write reviews for local restaurants for the same publication. |

Our club regularly hosts events especially geared for our newest members. At these events, the new members get a chance to meet each other, as well as get to know the members of longer standing. These events take many forms, such as morning coffees, Alster boat tours, dinner/drinks evenings, and lunches. |

Our team of "Tech Ladies" is responsible for the design, care, and maintenance of this site. We are always looking for members who would like to contribute content, and help with the site design and improvements. No tech experience is required; our current team runs the gamut from computer newbies to professional computer experts. Part of the fun for us is teaching and learning together. :-) |

Many of our activities are not sponsored by a specific club activity group, but by one or more members expressing an interest in a particular activity or event. These events vary widely as the membership includes women of all different ages, cultures, talents, and interests: celebrations of American holidays, tours of Hamburg and the surrounding environs, museum visits, shopping trips, and talks given by members on topics such as medieval art, antiques, and shopping. This section provides detailed examples of the types of events we have organized in the past. |
