RECONNECTING – 2005 FAWCO Conference: “To the Heart of the Matter” Birmingham, England, March 17-21, 2005

Please connect with us in Birmingham in the “Heart of England”, the heartbeat of the Industrial Revolution and home of the “Lunar Society”. The conference will include a Panel Discussion – “The Heart Matters” by cardiologists Dr. Jane Flint and Dr. Sarah Thorn among other panelists, Guest Speakers including the Countess of Macclesfield, President of the American Friends of NCH (National Children's Homes – Her Majesty, the Queen of England, is a patron of the NCH) among others, and Workshops on AIDS/HIV Awareness, Learning Differently, Dealing with Difficult People, and more to be confirmed. Each workshop will be repeated.

Evening Events include:
  • St. Patrick's Day Welcome Evening – “Black Velvet” (a drink of Guinness & sparkling wine) reception highlighting British Industry, Arts and Crafts in the Midlands
  • ”On the Town” in the heart of Birmingham's cultural Brindley Place, Gas Light District, Jewelry Quarter, Hippodrome, Theatre District and Symphony Hall
  • Evening at The Council House – The Lord Mayor will welcome FAWCO to the seat of local government
  • Closing Dinner – “As You Like It”’ with a twist of Shakespeare
  • Pre-, during and post-conference tours include City, Potteries, Jewelry Quarter, Shakespeare Country, Warwick Castle, English Gardens, London, Edinburgh, etc.
